This was the race I have been training for for the last 2 years! It was cancelled last year but luckily it went ahead this year. Normally the Long Course Championship for ITU is a different distance than Ironman, I guess just to differentiate themselves somehow. But I prefer the Ironman distance which is what it was this year! This year presented me with an unexpected but very pleasant problem: I accidentally discovered that I'm a natural at ultrarunning. The problem is that I love triathlon, I love the balance of the three sports and I don't want to give up cycling and swimming, my dreams of podiuming the ITU Worlds and going to Kona. I will start with the results because there are some things to be proud of. It was a World Championship event, 3 races in one. There was a race for the Canadian Championship, another one for the individual World Championship and a third one for the World Championship Country. There were 21 countries and Canada came third behind Belgium and the US. Personally I came 7th out of the 15 Canadians and 62nd out of the 300 participants worldwide.
